Dr. Aisha Thomas with B13 Consulting LLC

Aisha is a speaker, educator, mother, mentor, and community volunteer.  Over her 23-year educational career, she has served as an office manager, school counselor, assistant principal, principal across elementary and secondary schools, and educational consultant. Both the middle school and elementary school she served at are National Blue Ribbon Award winners and PLC@Work Model Schools. With Aisha’s leadership, her elementary school moved from the state ranking of 89th to 2nd out of all K-12 public schools. 

Aisha was awarded the 2018 Terrel H. Bell School Outstanding Leadership Award from the US Department of Education. She is also an avid community volunteer serving both spiritual and secular organizations and was awarded the 2018 Special Friend Award for Colorado State University’s Black/African-American Cultural Center. Aisha’s passion for educational justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI educator) aligns with her life mission to support high levels of learning for ALL students. 

She is a published fiction author and Solution Tree national associate where she travels the U.S. coaching schools how to get better at getting better. Aisha is certified to coach schools and districts in the PLC at Work, PLC Coaching Academy, and Yes We Can! Inclusive Practices. She has also presented breakout sessions at PLC at Work High Impact Teams Institutes. Aisha has also led learning at Colorado’s foremost professional learning environment, Tointon Institute for Educational Change through University of Northern Colorado.

Aisha earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in African-American History and also a Master of Education & Human Resource Studies with a concentration in School Counseling from Colorado State University in her hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado. She also received a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Capella University.
